Java Tip #3: Putting Applet Tags in Your Source Code

A simple way to test applets without creating a separate HTML file is to embed HTML applet tags in your actual source code and use the JDK appletviewer as your viewer. Just be sure the applet tags are marked as comments so the java compiler doesn't interpret them. That way you only need one file to work with and can both compile and run that same file.
