Tip #4: Test Applets with Appletviewer, Not Your Web Browser! When debugging applets, be sure to use appletviewer and not your web browser. Most web browsers (including the latest versions of Navigator and IE) will not reload applets properly when you press the reload button, or even when you flush the cache for that matter. This can be very frustrating if you are not aware of it the first time you try to debug an applet. Appletviewer comes as part of the JDK and should be located in the "bin" directory of the JDK installation. |
